James H. Stockdale

James H. Stockdale, 82 of Baker’s Crossroad, Hazel died Friday, July 2, 2010 at his home.
A retired farmer and letter carrier in Hazel and Almo, Mr. Stockdale served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. James accepted Christ as a young man and attended Hazel Church of Christ with his wife and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Glennie Clement Stockdale and his sister, Catherine Stockdale Adams.
Survivors include his wife Freida Anderson Stockdale of Hazel; a son, Johnnie Stockdale, wife Cathy, granddaughter, Johnna Stockdale, grandson Jamie Stockdale, wife Christy, great-granddaughter, Kalyn Elizabeth Stockdale; all of Hazel; a daughter, Juana Holt, husband Paul, grandsons, Matt Lovett, Zach Lovett and Colby Holt all of Paducah.
Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 4, at the Miller Funeral Home in Hazel, Danny Herndon and David Myers will officiate. Burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be: L.D. Cook, Jimmy Hale, Charles Guthrie, Larry Ward and Will Owen Vinson.
The family will receive visitors between 5 – 8PM on Saturday, July 3, at the funeral home in Hazel.
